Southern Cross Challenge Venue

 

A forty minute drive from the Brisbane City Centre, or thirty minutes if travelling from the airport, brings you to The Softball Centre Redlands located in Hilliard Park at 57-81 Sturgeon Street, Ormiston, opposite the Delancey Street intersection.

The venue has 8 diamonds, an indoor training facility and a two storey Club House amidst bushland surrounds. Situated on the eastern outskirts of Brisbane, the Centre is close to the foreshores of Moreton Bay and the gateway to the popular North Stradbroke Island.

Parking
Three parking areas within the grounds cater for over 200 vehicles with separate on-street parking also available. Separate bus parking is located within a two minute walk from the club house. Buses are permitted to drop off teams outside the clubhouse before parking their vehicle in the allocated area.

Amenities
Amenities are located upstairs in the clubhouse and at ground level. Change-rooms with showers are located at ground level.

Playing Facilities
Diamond 1 is of international standard with fully fenced skinned infield, grass outfield, lights, bullpens and enclosed sunken dugouts.
Diamonds 2, 6 and 8 are fully fenced with skinned infields, grass outfields and semi-open ground level dugouts. Diamonds 2 and 6 also have lights.
Diamond 7 is a fully fenced grassed playing field with skinned cut-outs and semi-open ground level dugouts.
Diamonds 3 and 5 have temporary fencing with grassed playing fields, skinned cut-outs and bench dugouts. These two diamonds will be used as warm-up areas for this tournament.
